History of the Domaine du Bouchard – from 1993 to the present day
In 1993, when Domaine du Bouchard was still in its early stages, a family with a passion for nature and adventure laid the foundations for what would become an iconic place. When Daniel, Nicole, and their daughter Émilie acquired the property, they discovered two modest houses nestled on a hillside, surrounded by wild and unspoiled vegetation.
They quickly recognized the exceptional potential of this place. With determination and passion, Daniel undertook significant work to restore the buildings and shape the landscape. The first few years were intense, punctuated by construction projects, but each step brought them a little closer to their dream.
The adventure took an unexpected turn when they mistakenly received a call for a reservation on the Cathar Trail. A group of riders, looking for a place to stop, had dialed the wrong number. Rather than turn them away, Daniel and Nicole decided to welcome them. These impromptu travelers were the very first guests of Domaine du Bouchard, marking the beginning of a beautiful story of hospitality and sharing. Over the years, Domaine du Bouchard has become a true meeting place for nature lovers, horseback riding enthusiasts, and travelers seeking authenticity. Thanks to the vision and tenacity of Daniel and Nicole, joined by their daughter Émilie, this natural haven continues to thrive and be passed on, offering everyone a timeless escape.
Since 2023
Today, Émilie and her husband Nicolas, still working alongside Nicole, passionately perpetuate the spirit of Domaine du Bouchard. They cultivate strong values: authenticity, simplicity, conviviality, and a love of nature, which are reflected in every cottage, every guest room, and throughout the estate. Here, the welcome is genuine, the moments are real, and everyone naturally feels at home. People come to Domaine du Bouchard to recharge… and they return often, with family or friends. A precious address passed down from generation to generation, like a well-kept secret, where you simply feel at home.

For us, preserving this little corner of paradise in the Aude region is our priority. Here, we drink spring water, we carefully consider the use of every drop, we respect and observe the wildlife around us, in harmony with the natural balance of the land… and soon, solar panels will illuminate your evenings.
